Rob Hamel
Vice President, Service Delivery
Rob Hamel has been managing and designing database solutions for the past 17 years. Rob applies the production engineering and data architectural skills acquired over the years to solve complex problems for customers; allowing their systems to scale as their business grows.
Rob’s role as leader of both the Pythian Consulting Group, and our Service Delivery team is critical to the success of our client engagements. Rob has over ten years experience with Pythian and is well known to many of our clients as both a technical contributor and long time natural leader of the team. His strong team skills, service quality focus and “customer first” orientation ensures that the leadership culture we embrace at Pythian remains strong.

Rob is a community leader, industry speaker, blogger, and has a long history of technical expertise and experience, specializing in data modeling, data warehousing, application architecture and application performance tuning. He has managed both small and large projects and teams throughout his career.
Prior to Pythian, Rob was a database consultant helping many organizations maximize their database infrastructure investment and mentoring many people along the way. Rob also worked in the Canadian Public Service as a development and data administrator in various Federal departments.
He enjoys canoeing snowshoeing, kayaking, makes his own authentic Canadian maple syrup and dabbles in woodworking.
