Chris Presley

“As a senior consultant and the manager of the Consulting Group, I wear many hats. Every problem requires a different set of skills; that constant change really interests me. And I enjoy the fact that this work isn’t just about technology—it’s about business requirements, processes and people. When we work with clients, we don’t talk in terms of their problems. We talk about our problems. We take them on as our own.”

The Organizer

Chris Presley loves order—making him a premier Microsoft SQL Server expert. Not only has he programmed and administered SQL Server, but he has also shared his expertise and passion with budding DBAs as SQL Server instructor at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. Drawing on his strong disaster-recovery skills, he monitors production environments to swiftly detect and resolve problems before they arise. He has also created audit and security tools for Pythian, contributing to the company’s performance review process. And he led one of the company’s largest teams, responsible for more than 18 clients. A self-described adrenaline junkie, Chris likes tackling the biggest database problems and putting out the toughest fires—and hitting the road on his motorcycle.
