Adam Machanic

With his great experience and his authority within the SQL Server DBA community, few are better-suited to head Pythian's SQL Server practice than Adam Machanic.

Adam's professional experience as a SQL Server database architect, administrator, and programmer includes successful engagements on very large-scale jobs for organizations across many sectors and interests.

A specialist in performance and scalability issues, Adam has a deep knowledge of Transact-SQL, data warehousing, and extensive experience with the SQL Server BI stack. He also has a flair for training and documentation, having published books, articles, and courseware on SQL Server. Amongst the many publications to which he has contributed is his most recent book, Expert SQL Server 2005 Development (Apress).

In recognition of his leadership in the SQL Server community, Adam has been named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) every year since 2004. He is also an MS Certified IT Professional Database Developer and Database Administrator. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Philosophy from Tufts University.
