Jim Francica reports on Oracle’s first Oracle Spatial Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting, which occurred several weeks ago in Denver. Francica says “Oracle wants to facilitate a location-enabled information technology infrastructure for every kind of spatial data type and enterprise application.” Oracle appears very committed to improving their spatial product, but needs to ensure that everyone, from the Oracle sales force to consumers, is aware of its potential. read article.
