I’m traveling quite a bit in the next few weeks, here’s where you can find me:
- On February 14, I’ll present an Exadata war story and big data introduction to OSWOUG (Oregon and South Washington Oracle User’s Group). If you are in Portland, drop by and say hello – I will be educational and entertaining.
- I’ll only be at Portland until lunch, as I have to make it to my flight to RMOUG, where I’ll give one presentation on Big Data (Wednsday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Room: 404) and another on NoSQL (Thursday, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Room: 401). Yes, these are two different topics, one is more centered on the big data concept and why it became interesting, the other more about specific NoSQL technologies. I saw that Jonathan Lewis is planning to make it to my Big Data presentation, so I’ll take care to make it extra awesome. There’s a large group of Pythian folks at RMOUG, and I think we also have a booth, so make sure you stop by and say hello.
- I’ll spend the last week of February in NYC for a customer. I don’t plan on doing any public speaking, but if anyone wants to invite me to dinner and talk about Oracle or big data, I’m game.
- First week of March is Hotsos Symposium. I’ll talk about scaling modern OLTP systems using only Pools, Queues and Caches. I’m furiously busy planning my schedule for this one – this conference consistently has amazing speakers and topics, for example, my colleagues Alex G. and Jared Still will also present there. I’m also furiously finishing up my paper, because I’m way late for the deadline.
