Sreekanth, as far as I know, there is no call for papers for Oracle Open World just like there was no one last years. Unlike user group conferences, OOW is organized by Oracle itself and, ultimately, they decide which papers should be presented. Most of the OOW program has been dictated by Oracle or done in partnership with customers and other vendors as far as I know but there are certain number of sessions accepted from various user groups.

Well, you can't really identify whether Oracle Mix accounts correspond to the real people. One can register many times and vote for their own proposal. The only problem, besides that it's plain cheating, is that one might end up with the presentation that nobody is interested in.

That's a nightmare of every presenter to present a virtually empty room. I won't wish that to anyone. Though, free pass would be due. Not that I care about it - Oracle ACE's get free passes anyway. ;-)

It is amusing to see, both your abstract and my own proposal are currently both getting outvoted by a talk with the title "Database" and the enigmatic abstract "TO KNOW"

Hey, I guess that is democracy for you.
