Alex -- I have, and I was pretty disappointed. As a teenager in New Jersey (land of really good diners and highways, thus I call it "the great drive-through state") friends and I would go to diners and order cheese fries with gravy all the time. It's not really anything different from that, except that it has a special name.

Nope - just checked the constitution (both 1867 and 1982 versions) and there's no mention of Christianity. The only mention of religion at all, actually, goes like this:

Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:

    (a) 	freedom of conscience and religion;
    (b) 	freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
    (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
    (d) 	freedom of association.

and continues a bit later like this

(1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

   (2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

Nope, no christianity in there. We sure do mention the Queen a lot though!

Phew, that would have caught me by surprise. We do have some trappings, including an irritating verse in the national anthem. Good thing I can sing it in French! But there is no state religion and we do enjoy a reasonably functional separation of church and state in Canada. ;-)
