"And after a fruitful endeavour as the chief software architect for Oracle solutions at Polyserve, it became an opportunity to latch onto Oracle, because we sold our company to them. So there we are."

Eek. Well, Christ, Paul, as we've discussed the next one will need better audio quality. I'm pretty sure I didn't say "latch onto Oracle" and I know I ceratinly didn't say we sold PolyServe to Oracle...we sold PolyServe to HP...

Anyway, I think folks can tell the audio was rough and thus the transcription is a it rough :-)

I'm calling from a land line for the next one!

Excellent, excellent material. I believe this is the best and most comprehensive details on the Exadata appliance anywhere - no marketing; all technology. Thank you Christo for the wonderful leads in questionsing and Kevin for those answers. I wish I had discovered this blog entry earlier.

Yes, big thanks to Paul for organising this, Christo for the good questions and Kevin for staying connected in this way. A few minutes good quality reading and as far as I'm concerned this is good for Oracle, good for their customers and good for geeks.

Oh, and Paul ...

"So, I must say–just to go on the record–that this is not at all what I thought you might be cooking up, but by the same token — and obviously the evidence for that is all over the Pythian blog, where we had a speculative blog entry about what might be in-store."

Humility. Nice touch ;-)

"I am tremendously impressed and really excited"

Complete agreement.

Nice one, chaps!
