Just a teensy bit worried, nothing keeping me up at night. just that there’s a company in control of many of the MySQL developers that has a potential conflict of interest due to database control elsewhere. Not a huge worry….all in all, it’s fantastic for everyone involved really.

Err .. SUN is hardly the main contributor to PostgreSQL. It does have one of the more visible people in the PostgreSQL community on their payroll and they have been doing some nice work with PostgreSQL on machines with lots of CPU’s though. No more .. no less.

Let me clarify — I don’t think this is the end of the world, it’s just that there’s a *bit* of worry. Not a lot, and basically this is my ONLY qualm — I think this is an AWESOME move for both Sun and MySQL.

Eh. I’m not worried at this point. I think if Sun made any extreme changes upon acquisition they would be very foolish to do so. I am hoping for the best.
