Oracle issues its quarterly (Oct/2005) Critical Patch Update

Oracle has now issued its latest quarterly security patch (Oct/2005) which is geared at packaging several security issues into one very large patch, thus making it easier for customers to keep track of where they are with respect to having their Oracle products secured. Oracle states that it plans to release them "on the Tuesday closest to the 15th day of January, April, July and October". These patches provide fixes not only to Oracle databases, but also to several other products (Reports, PL/SQL, etc.). Everyone must keep track of these very important patches.

As the Oracle products evolve, so does the tracking of bug fixes, which is a very good thing.
