Pythian, in partnership with a client, has discovered an apparent bug in the Oracle 10.1.0.4.0 JDBC thin driver that was not present in the 10.1.0.3.0 driver.
When upgrading a production server from Oracle 184.108.40.206 to 10.1.0.4.0. Pythian started seeing problems. When the data was insterted, anywhere between 25 to 90 percent of the data did not get successfully inserted. The amount of data that did not get inserted was random, but it was consistent in that the same data that didn’t get inserted at first attempt would not be inserted in subsequent attempts.
