## Notice

One of the questions in my [webinar](https://www.pythian.com/news/15083/implementing-exadata-webinar/) this week related to [TPC](https://www.tpc.org) benchmark results for Exadata. [Kevin Closson](https://kevinclosson.wordpress.com) blogged about a [TPC-H test run against an Exadata V1 machine](https://kevinclosson.wordpress.com/2009/09/07/world-record-tpc-h-result-proves-oracle-exadata-storage-server-is-10x-faster-than-conventional-storage-on-a-per-disk-basis/) back in June 2009. It was the fastest [1,000GB TPC-H](https://tpc.org/tpch/results/tpch_perf_results.asp) result at the time, but has since been overtaken by a ParAccel result that [makes a mockery of the benchmark](https://www.dbms2.com/2009/06/22/the-tpc-h-benchmark-is-a-blight-upon-the-industry/) according to Curt Monash by running almost entirely in RAM.

## Results

I’m not aware of any TPC results for Exadata V2. However a TPC-C test was run in late 2009 using a Sun F5100 flash array on Sun T5540 servers, setting a record for the benchmark that still stands.

The [Oracle wiki](https://wiki.oracle.com/page/Database+Benchmarking) has a great overview of the various benchmarks and what they actually measure.
