How AEG Worldwide delivers superior customer experience with a cloud-based analytics platform

We recently helped AEG Worldwide, a leader in the live entertainment industry, align their marketing programs with their individual ticket buyers with a big data solution that provides AEG with a full view of their customers’ behaviors and preferences and the ability for them to create personalized, timely communications.

To implement this big data vision, AEG chose Pythian’s Kick Analytics as a Service (Kick AaaS) and Microsoft’s Azure as the Cloud platform of choice. Kick AaaS brought together AEG’s data – millions of rows of data from eight different data sources in more than two dozen data formats – into a data lake and cleaned and integrated the data.  This created an organized and incredibly rich view of the AEG customer base, made available in Azure SQL Data Warehouse to business analysts to create personalized marketing programs.

We also incorporated an encryption service into Kick AaaS that met AEG’s rigorous security requirements. And because the solution was designed and implemented in a much shorter time than AEG could have done themselves, the time to value was greatly accelerated.

For the first time, AEG could see the entirety of the customer’s behavior and preferences, from what events they attended and with how many people, to what they ate and did at the events. With these insights, AEG is able to greatly improve their customer experience for the better.
