Pythian supports Mapp Digital in their cloud strategy

Overview

A global engineering company that works extensively with the US Federal Government contracts needed its Oracle E-Business Suite applications to comply with NIST SP 800-171 Cybersecurity Guidelines. This regulation required the firm to implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) for its existing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) systems.

When off-the-shelf solutions exceeded the firm’s budget, Pythian designed an affordable Oracle EBS SSO solution fully compliant with government regulations. It was integrated into the firm’s existing EBS system in three months, customized to its unique needs, and saved the client 20x to 200x more than alternative solutions. As a result, the organization can now take on more US Federal Government contracts and has experienced increased employee satisfaction with an elegant solution for SSO and MFA.

The Pythian Database Services team helped Mapp Digital navigate the whole process, from initial consultations on the feasibility of AWS through developing and implementing a migration plan, then performing testing
Helped evaluate multiple options, including sharding, migration strategies, and performance comparisons
Provided cutover testing and escalation assistance—and continues to monitor the database environments for outages while making recommendations on configurations for optimizing availability, and opportunities to save on cost
Pythian experts drew on previous experience with other clients to ensure that Mapp worked within the appropriate parameters of AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) to avoid creating a fragile configuration
