Customer success story
IT infrastructure provider stabilized reporting and unlocked sales visibility
Overhauled analytics platform unlocked global pipeline analytics.
Pythian re-architected backend data warehouse pipelines and executed a clean migration of Oracle Analytics Server to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
To support rapid growth without interrupting live operations, a global IT and network infrastructure manufacturer partnered with Pythian to build a modern data foundation and migrate its analytics platform to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
In Phase 1, our experts built a ground-up enterprise data warehouse using Data Vault 2.0 for a resilient core and Kimball dimensional modeling for fast reporting. Our team modeled key complex domains, including gross margin, order backlog, and global sales—delivering near real-time order tracking and executive dashboards for instant visibility. Pythian also launched a custom Oracle APEX app for point-of-sale claims, replacing manual tasks with an auditable workflow.
In Phase 2, Pythian migrated the company's Oracle Analytics and Oracle Data Integrator workloads to Oracle Analytics Cloud and ODI on OCI, establishing a scalable platform for future expansion.
Pythian’s deep technical expertise and historical knowledge of our environments ensured a smooth transition to OCI while establishing a modern data foundation for our global sales reporting."

Drive sales performance and stabilize operational analytics on OCI.
Legacy infrastructure bottlenecks caused reporting latency and restricted global sales visibility.
Pythian re-architected backend data warehouse pipelines and executed a seamless application cutover to OCI.
Partnering with Pythian enabled us to modernize our core analytics infrastructure on OCI without missing a beat in our daily batch reporting or global sales operations."

Legacy analytics lacked enterprise scalability and usage visibility
A reliance on legacy reporting and spreadsheet-based data created severe reporting latency and limited executives’ ability to self-serve the insights they needed.
On-premises systems required seamless cutover to OCI
Migrating core Oracle E-Business Suite, OAS, and APEX applications demanded precise reconfiguration of ODI topology endpoints without disrupting live business operations.
Outdated security models hindered unified sales reporting
Legacy Virtual Private Database security prevented modern data integration across global sales pipelines and regional point-of-sale datasets.
Offshore onboarding gaps risked daily stability
Delayed ramp-up times for offshore resources threatened daily ETL batch load execution and routine application maintenance.
How it works
- 01 Data warehouse rebuild
- 02 OAS and ODI migration
- 03 APEX application rebuild
- 04 Managed application support
- 05 AI readiness roadmap
Re-architected backend data pipelines to expand sales visibility across global markets.
Pythian’s Data Engineers organized the warehouse into clear business subject areas, including sales orders, sales invoices, sales backlog and point-of-sale data, each modelled on a Data Vault 2.0 core with Kimball dimensional marts on top. The result was faster, more reliable data loads, an end to reporting lag, and dashboards that gave regional and executive leadership an up-to-date view of the metrics that matter.
Executed clean migration to OCI to deliver scalable, high-concurrency analytics performance.
Pythian deployed OAS v8.2 across the customer’s Development, Test, and Production environments on OCI, updating RPD semantic layers and web catalogs along the way. With E-Business Suite moving to OCI in parallel, Pythian reconfigured and validated every connection in the ODI topology—from EBS sources to the warehouse, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and APEX—ensuring integrations cut over cleanly without interrupting live operations while stabilizing batch execution times and restoring global reporting availability.
Modernized point-of-sale processing workflows to accelerate claim cycles and regional approvals.
The deployment team rebuilt the IT infrastructure manufacturer's POS Data Processing Application in Oracle APEX, introducing automated data consolidation, claim split processing, and soft deletes. The updated application streamlined data management and automated Regional Sales Manager approval flows, significantly reducing manual administrative effort.
Safeguarded daily batch loads to maintain uninterrupted business operations.
Pythian provided 24 months of dedicated application support and post-migration hypercare to safeguard daily operations. Senior database engineers bridged onboarding gaps for offshore teams, protecting critical daily ETL loads and ensuring long-term system stability.
Established a clear framework and prioritized action plan for future AI exploration.
Pythian conducted an executive AI readiness workshop to define a clear framework, action plan, and prioritized backlog for future AI exploration within the IT ecosystem. The resulting strategic roadmap positions the organization to safely integrate advanced analytics and generative AI capabilities into its modernized data foundation.
