Our customer needed to upgrade from Oracle Database 11g in Amazon Web Services’ Relational Database System (AWS RDS) to Oracle Database version 19c – with less than 30 minutes of downtime.

Pythian developed a client-approved proof of concept and migration plan including process-specific monitoring and alerting for dependencies, a fall-back strategy, and a customized solution not publicly available using Oracle’s Dynamic Monitoring Service (DMS) tooling.

Pythian achieved the upgrade with minimal downtime and no application complications.
