This blog posts explains why Oracle Database Appliances re-imaging process timing may vary from 20 to 120 minutes. There are a check in the ISO:/Extras/setupodaovm.sh script that have an issue. Until the bug is fixed a) you may face different ODA nodes’ re-imaging times b) to be on the safe side check if md devices’ re-synchronization process is finished by running “cat /proc/mdstat” command before running any business critical processes on your ODA.
It is less than a week before the Collaborate 2013 conference. Most of us are busy putting together our individual agendas for what is shaping up to be a very exciting week. There are so many interesting sessions to choose from! Conference organizers kindly introduced a Show Planner to make planning a bit easier, but in this blog post, I will share with you how I created my agenda for Collaborate.
First, the most important advice I can give you is to relax and have FUN! Personal Experience Until recently, most of the conferences I participated in were very stressful for me personally. My very first big conference was back in 2000 – the Oracle User Group conference in Copenhagen. Since then, I have participated in 1 or 2 conferences…
This is a very short blog post to share a good news I learned last week at the great New Zealand Oracle User Group 2013 conference. During a keynote Tom Kyte mentioned that Oracle is going to introduce a Temporary Undo.
Concurrent Processing in one of the most resources consuming Oracle e-Business Suite component. It is important to ensure a proper performance management of that components. Oracle Real Application Clusters provides Scalability and High Availability. Applications running on RAC should support certain configuration options to leverage RAC benefits. This blog posts describes possible concurrent processing configuration options and highlights EBS today’s limitations. It provides a possible solution and explains what benefits it could introduce to organizations running both EBS and RAC today.

In this blog post I would like to share with you how I have transferred optimizer statistics and as result managed to get exactly the same execution plans in both production and development environments. I am not going to go through all the details in this blog post as I am limited in time today. You can find all the steps I have used in my github.com script repository.
I made this blog title intentionally provocative. However it isn’t far from the truth. Don’t believe me? Continue reading :)
Any database upgrade suppose to change SQLs’ execution plans for the better. In 99 cases out of 100 this is exactly what happens. What to do with rest 1% of the SQLs? This blog post is exactly about such unlucky case I have resolved today. Hope that you will learn something out of it. As always let me know what you think using the comments section at the end of the post.
